Horst Rasch

Horst Rasch (born March 9, 1953 in Ober-Mittelebersbach ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 1990 to 2009 he was a member of the Saxon State Parliament and from 2002 to 2004 Saxon State Minister of the Interior .

Life

After completing his Abitur in 1971 at the Kreuzschule Dresden , Horst Rasch began studying mechanical engineering at the TU Dresden in 1973 , where he graduated in 1977 with a diploma. From 1977 to 1989, Rasch worked as a problem analyst, system programmer, company organizer and IT project manager in various GDR companies. From 1990 he was press office manager and press spokesman for the mayor in Dresden. Since 2009, Rasch has been working as a freelance engineer after giving up his state parliament mandate.

From 1992 to 2002 Rasch was chairman of the board of trustees of the Saxon State Center for Political Education and chairman of the “Förderverein Dresdner Kreuzchor e. V. “Since 2005 Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dresdner Kreuzchor Foundation - Förderstiftung.

Horst Rasch is of the Evangelical Lutheran denomination, married and has two children.

Without a party until 1989, Rasch finally joined the CDU in 1990 through his membership in the civil rights movement “ Democratic Awakening ”. From 1991 to 2005 Rasch was CDU district chairman in the Riesa-Großenhain district and in the meantime also a member of the CDU state board.

Horst Rasch was a member of the Saxon state parliament from 1990 to 2009 ( constituency 38 - Riesa-Großenhain 2 ). From May 2, 2002 to November 10, 2004 he was Saxon Minister of State for the Interior . In the fourth legislative term (2004-2009) was quickly chairman of the Committee on Economic Affairs, Labor and Transport, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Rules of Procedure and Immunity Affairs and a member of the first committee of inquiry of the 4th term of Sachsen LB . In the state elections in 2009 , Rasch no longer stood as a candidate and thus left the state parliament.
