Rudolf Krause (born February 19, 1939 in Neißgrund , Glatz district ) is a German educator and politician ( CDU ). He is a former member of the Saxon state parliament and from 1990 to 1991 was Saxony's first interior minister after reunification .

Life

After graduating from EOS , Rudolf Krause studied mathematics at the University of Leipzig . He passed his state examination in 1962. From 1962 Krause worked as a teacher in the Leipzig district . From 1987 to 1990 he was director and mathematics teacher at the special school for mathematics, science and technology in Leipzig (today Wilhelm-Ostwald-Gymnasium). He has a PhD .

Krause is Catholic, married and has two children.

Krause joined the Eastern CDU in 1962 and became a member of the CDU in 1990.

In the GDR, Krause was a long-time member of the Central Council of the FDJ .

From June to November 1990 Rudolf Krause was government representative for the Leipzig district . In 1989 and 1990 he was a member of the district executive committee and the party executive committee as well as deputy party chairman. In September and October 1990, Krause was a member of the district assembly and district assembly in Leipzig, as well as a participant in the central “ round table ” of the GDR and state representative.

After German reunification, Krause moved into the Saxon state parliament in October 1990. On November 8, 1990, he was appointed Saxon State Minister of the Interior in the government of the State of Saxony led by Prime Minister Kurt Biedenkopf . On September 28, 1991, he resigned from this office. In connection with the review of the MPs for cooperation with the Ministry for State Security , he also resigned his state parliament mandate on October 23, 1991. He had previously worked for the Ministry for State Security as IMS "Ries" between 1973 and 1982.
