Horst Bad
Horst Schlechte (born October 28, 1909 in Dresden ; † September 18, 1986 there ) was a German historian and archivist .
Life
Horst Schlechte was born as the son of an official in Dresden. In 1929 he began studying history , German and English at the University of Leipzig . In 1933, he was with a thesis on Archbishop Bruno of Trier / a contribution to the history of the intellectual currents in the Investiture Controversy Dr. phil. PhD, which was suggested by Paul Kirn . He also worked on the Monumenta Germaniae Historica . In 1937 he passed the archival state examination and took up his service in the main state archive in Dresden .
After his return from French captivity in 1950, he continued his service at the Saxon State Main Archives, where he was director from 1959 to 1974. From 1956 he worked in the editorial department of the archive communications .
