Horst Tuguntke

Horst Helmut Tuguntke (born January 25, 1931 in Wartenburg , Warmia ) is a German administrative lawyer, local researcher, publicist and holder of the Federal Cross of Merit .

Live and act

After fleeing from the advancing Red Army from Warmia, he was interned for about three years in the Danish internment camp Gammel Rye (Central Jutland ). It was not until mid-December 1947 that he was allowed to emigrate to the British occupation zone in St. Mauritz - Münster , attended the St. Mauritz grammar school there and graduated from high school in 1951. After training as a legal clerk and public prosecutor , he was employed in the public prosecutor's offices in the higher regional court district and with the general public prosecutor in Hamm , then, until the transition to retirement in 1996, as senior public prosecutor at the public prosecutor's office in Hagen and as a prosecutor before the local courts in Regional court district of Hagen.

As a water sports enthusiast, he bought a folding boat during his training in 1955 and founded the Freizeit Hengsteysee canoe club in 1976 . V. in Hagen, worked out its statutes and was chairman until 2006. In December 1996 he received the hiking badge in gold of the German Canoe Association for his sporting achievement (23,750 km on 180 rivers and large lakes in the last 20 years) . V.

Horst Tuguntke has been a member since 1955, and since 1985 secretary and press spokesman of the Allenstein-Land e. V. In 1989 he revised the outdated association statutes, whereby the Heimatverein was recognized as non-profit and took over the editorial management of the annual Heimatjahrbuch . Since around 1980 he has been a member of the Landsmannschaft Ostpreußen e. V. (district group Hagen), thus a born member of the Federation of Expellees . In 1995 he concluded the friendship agreement between the sponsored community of Hagen and his place of birth Wartenburg (since 1946 Barczewo), and in 2002, on his initiative, a partnership agreement was signed between the Olsztyn district and the Olsztyn district in Poland. Between 2001 and 2009 he was awarded the Medal in Gold of the homeland East Prussia e. V. On July 9, 2010, the Lord Mayor of Hagen , Jörg Dehm, presented him with the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon, which the Federal President Horst Köhler awarded him on March 14, 2010. The badge of honor and merit of the Landsmannschaft Ostpreussen e. V. presented him with Jürgen Zauner on March 12, 2011.
