Hubert Auer (Provost)
Hubert Auer (* 1. May 1780 in Bingen am Rhein , † 17th February 1836 in Trier ) was Fürstbischöflicher Delegate for Brandenburg and Pomerania and provost of St. Hedwig's Church in Berlin as well as Provost to Trier .
Life
After his training at the University of Landshut and ordination on May 31, 1806 in Landshut , Auer became chaplain and parish administrator of St. Agatha in Aschaffenburg and in 1814 city pastor in Wetzlar . In 1819 he entered the service of the royal Prussian government in Koblenz as consistorial councilor and worked in the department for clergy and school affairs.
In 1824 he was appointed provost of St. Hedwig's Church in Berlin and at the same time canon of Wroclaw Cathedral and prince-bishop's delegate for Brandenburg and Pomerania on behalf of the Wroclaw Bishop .
On April 25, 1826 he was appointed and in 1827 he was inaugurated as provost at Trier Cathedral. Associated with this was the position of a clergyman and synod examiner for the episcopal curia in Trier and an episcopal vicariate council as well as the office of a book censor in the royal government.
Auer was an officer of the Red Eagle Order .
He became known as the author of a "Christ Catholic Catechism ".
