Hugolino Cerasuolo Stacey

Hugolino Felix Cerasuolo Stacey OFM (born April 4, 1932 in Guayaquil ; † May 24, 2019 ibid) was an Ecuadorian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Loja .

Life

Hugolino Cerasuolo Stacey joined the Franciscan Order and was ordained a priest on June 29, 1954 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on October 3, 1967 as Apostolic Prefect of Galápagos . On May 30, 1975 he was by Paul VI. appointed auxiliary bishop in Guayaquil and titular bishop of Valeria . The Archbishop of Guayaquil, Bernardino Carlos Guillermo Honorato Echeverría Ruiz, OFM, donated him episcopal ordination on July 6 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Ernesto Alvarez Alvarez SDB , Archbishop of Cuenca , and Cándido Rada Senosiáin , Bishop of Guaranda .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Loja on May 2, 1985. On June 15, 2007, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related resignation.
