Hunger is a German documentary film by Karin Steinberger and Marcus Vetter from 2009 .

The filmmakers Karin Steinberger and Marcus Vetter tried to research in five countries what makes fighting hunger in the world so difficult, even though more food is produced overall than needed.
Production and publication
The film was produced by Eikon and had its world premiere in November 2009 at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam . The first broadcast on German television was on October 25, 2010.
Reviews
The film service praises the “committed” documentary film, which, through its journey through several continents, shows “an impressive number of facets of the problem”, “which it connects with one another” and “puts its finger on wounds”, whereby it “reveals some terrifying mechanisms” , without relying on “hunger images”, “but to show the connections between poverty and (European) prosperity”.
The jury of the Robert Geisendörfer Prize considers the documentation, “which can impressively describe relationships and clearly name structures”, to be successful.
