In 1988 the Munich electronics group Rohde & Schwarz became a partner and in addition to a second building for development and administration, the company grew and developed an ACCESSNET solution based on the analog MPT 1327 trunked radio network standard developed in Great Britain in 1988 . In 1989, in cooperation with Deutsche Telekom (marketing of the trunked radio system as the Chekker network), the first ACN systems were delivered to Nuremberg and Stuttgart . The network control (MSC) takes over the connection between the public telephone network (PSTN), private branch exchanges (PABX) and the digital telecommunication network Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) by means of cell control (TSC) the transmission to the radio base stations (RBS) through the trunked radio exchange (MMX ) .

R&S Bick Mobilfunk GmbH

In 1992 Rohde & Schwarz took over the majority of the company and R&S Bick Mobilfunk GmbH was continued within the group. For local public transport in the Swedish capital Stockholm , the company was awarded the contract to expand the trunked radio system. From 1997, the Rohde & Schwarz Group expanded the product range from the telephone system operator console to the computer-aided operation and maintenance unit (OMC) for large radio networks. In 1998 around 90 employees were employed and ACCENET-T was developed in-house into Terrestrial Trunked Radio (TETRA), digital trunked radio based on the open ETSI standard. On July 23, 1999, R&S Bick Mobilfunk is also a founding member of the Federal Association of Professional Mobile Radio (PMeV) based in Berlin. In 1999, the company implemented the first TETRA switching system DTX-500 in Germany for the communications infrastructure of the German Army Combat Training Center in Gardelegen - Letzlingen . In 1999 the company R&S Bick Mobilfunk achieved sales of around 58 million DM with 80 employees and exported turnkey professional mobile networks for security organizations, public transport, airports, seaports and large companies to China , India , Russia , Belarus and the Ukraine . Series production of the TETRA base station DMX-500 and the TETRA switching station DTX-500 begins in 2000. A year later, the DMX-500 and DTX-500 stations are merged in one system housing and given the designation DSS-500 for ACCESSNET-T. From 2002, the company received orders from the Mexican state energy supplier Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE) as the first TETRA project in Latin America, for the tunnel systems of the Bangkok Metro in Thailand, for TETRA communication along the oil pipelines in Ukraine and for the state Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) in Oman. For this purpose, the company developed the first TETRA outdoor base stations DOB-500. In 2004 the indoor base station DIB-R3 was launched and with the modular and quickly deployable TETRA system Cube is used by the armed forces in Brazil , Norway and together with the British manufacturer Sepura in South Korea . In 2006, the TETRA system ACCESSNET-T was used by the security forces at the Asian Games in Doha in Qatar and was then taken over and privatized and used commercially with VPN functions. Further orders followed by the Panama Canal Authority and, from 2007, the establishment of the first nationwide TETRA network in Malaysia . On May 1, 2007, the former company founder Heinz Bick ends the management and hands over to Georg Haubs.

Products

The company mainly deals with the development and implementation of trunked radio systems according to the TETRA standard. In the years 2010 to 2012, the company's export share increased to 81 percent, and 43 new jobs were created in Lower Saxony. In 2013 the company had 134 employees and customers in 37 countries. Customers include authorities and organizations with security tasks as well as the oil and gas industry, transport companies, airport operators and military users. In addition, the DMR radios from Hytera are particularly popular among radio amateurs, which was surprising for the manufacturer, but was welcomed.

At the 2013 Hanover Fair , Hytera Mobilfunk GmbH received the 4th Lower Saxony Foreign Trade Prize for small and medium-sized companies from the Minister of Economics, Olaf Lies . In March 2015, Hytera Mobilfunk GmbH was awarded the contract for the renewal of the TETRA radio system C2000 for all rescue services and the police in the Netherlands.

With the PTTconnect app introduced in 2015, voice and data communication can be expanded beyond the physical limits of the ACCESSNET-T IP TETRA radio system from Hytera. PTTconnect increases the radio coverage via a gateway, which enables the use of UMTS or LTE and WLAN broadband networks. A broadband data connection is established between the smartphone with the installed PTTconnect app and the Hytera Connect server, which in turn ensures the connection of the tap-proof TETRA radio system to public networks.
