IC 1061 is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E0 in the constellation Bear Keeper in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 593 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 35,000 ly. The galaxy forms a gravitationally bound pair with IC 1062 .
The galaxies NGC 5760 , NGC 5778 , IC 4507 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on July 18, 1892 .
