IC 1062 is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E / S0 in the constellation Bear Guardian in the northern sky . It is an estimated 591 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 55,000 ly. The galaxy forms a gravitationally bound pair with IC 1061 .
The galaxies NGC 5760 , NGC 5778 , IC 4507 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on July 18, 1892 .
