IC 4663 is a planetary nebula in the constellation Scorpio . Spectral lines of ionized hydrogen and nitrogen show that in the center of the nebula lies a Wolf-Rayet star , which shines at a temperature of 140,000 Kelvin and 4,000 times the luminosity of the sun ; the distance is determined to be 3.5 kpc.
