IC 4650 is a spiral galaxy of the Hubble type S in the constellation Dragon in the northern sky . It is about 366 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 65,000 light years .
In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 6338 , NGC 6345 , NGC 6346 , IC 1252 .

The object was discovered by Guillaume Bigourdan on September 5, 1888 , but the observed object could also be a star (RA 17 15 52.0, Dec +57 18 53).
