Two cities and 19 administrative atolls

The list of ISO-3166-2 codes for the Maldives contains the codes for the two cities ( Malé and Addu City ) and 19 administrative atolls .

The codes consist of two parts separated by a hyphen. The first part gives the country code according to ISO 3166-1 (for the Maldives MV), the second the code for the administrative atoll and the city.

The current country code was last updated on November 26, 2018.

The current codes are available on the ISO website under #iso: code: 3166: MV . In 1998, but after publication, the Ari Atoll (Alif) was divided into a north part (Alif Alif) and a south part (Alif Dhaal). Therefore, the two districts had the same code MV-02 until the 2011 update. The provinces presented in 2008 were given up again in 2012. The Seenu Atoll has now been elevated to the city of Addu City .
