Ibad Muhamadu (born February 22, 1982 in Amsterdam ) is a former Dutch football player. He is the son of a Ghanaian father and a Surinamese mother. He usually played as a striker .

Career

After Muhamadu had moved from Amsterdam to Hoorn in North Holland with his parents , he started training with the local clubs Always Forward and HVV Hollandia . Later he played in the youth of AZ Alkmaar .

Muhamadu received his first professional contract in 2001 with FC Twente . In his first season in the Eredivisie he came to five missions, in the following season to none. When René Vandereycken took over as coach, Muhamadu was loaned to the second division club SC Cambuur-Leeuwarden for the 2003/04 season. After that year he did not return to Twente, but stayed in the second division and signed with MVV Maastricht . With good performances in Maastricht, he recommended himself for a transfer to the Belgian first division partner Cercle Bruges . However, Muhamadu could not assert himself here and went back to the second Dutch league for FC Dordrecht after only one year . For Dordrecht he played 48 times in the league and scored 13 goals.

For the 2008/09 season Muhamadu signed with Willem II Tilburg in the Eredivision. In the second game for Tilburg, he scored his first goal in the top Dutch league in a 3-1 away win against NAC Breda .

A year later, Muhamadu moved to Germany in the 3rd division at Dynamo Dresden . He signed a two-year contract. Muhamadu was already known in Dresden - at the inauguration game of the new west stand of the Rudolf Harbig Stadium in August 2008, he scored the two goals for guest Willem II Tilburg to win 2-0. Already after the sixth match day, shortly before the end of the transfer period, the contract with Muhamadu was terminated again, as, according to Dresden's chief executive Stefan Bohne, "unfortunately, he could not play in the foreground as hoped." Muhamadu only came on three times in the first games been.

He then went back to FC Dordrecht and played 18 games in the second highest Dutch division by March 2010 . The contract was then terminated.

In August, Muhamadu moved to the United States to join the Portland Timbers in the USSF Division 2 Professional League . In the remaining two months of the season he played ten times for the Timbers, six of them from the start. The Timbers got into Major League Soccer (MLS) from the 2011 season . In November 2010, the club fired all those players who would have no future in the newly formed first division team. Muhamadu was among them. On November 29, 2011, Muhamadu signed a contract with Helmond Sport. In July 2011, he then signed a two-year contract with SV Spakenburg , after which he ended his career in summer 2013.
