background

Studio Bucharest took the script for the film on March 26, 1959 under the title "Cinci fete cucuiete sau Marea e de vină" based on an idea by Bogdan Căuș and dialogues by Alexandru Mirodan . However, since the production work was delayed by over 15 years and both authors were no longer available, Beno Meirovici and Alexandru Struțeanu were hired to write the final script, with director Geo Saizescu contributing several dialogues and finally being named as co-author.

Production began on May 3, 1977. The film was shot from July 25 to October 25, 1977. Production ended on December 8, 1977 and cost a total of 3.117 million lei . The film was released on February 27, 1978 and was seen by a total of 3,524,128 viewers. About a year and a half later, it was shown in East German cinemas on September 7, 1978, and was broadcast for the first time on German-language television on January 28, 1981, on the East German television station DFF 1 .

1978 Violeta Andrei was awarded for her portrayal of Ioana Teodorescu by the Asociația Cineaștilor din România as Best Actress, where she had to share the award with Valeria Seciu , who shone in Înainte de tăcere .
