The Igelsbachsee and the somewhat larger Kleine Brombachsee are the two barrages of the Großer Brombachsee in Bavarian Middle Franconia in the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district .
The reservoir is named after the Igelsbach flowing to it in the northwest . Another tributary is the Gänsbach . It is dammed up by a dam in the southeast. The level of the lake fluctuates only slightly; the target is at 411 m above sea level. NN and the deepest areas of the lake are between 399 m above sea level. NN and 400 m above sea level NN . The water from the Igelbachsee flows into the Großer Brombachsee , where the target is 410.5 m above sea level. NN and the lowering target to 403.5 m above sea level. NN with level fluctuations of up to 7 meters.
geography
The lake is located about 37 km as the crow flies south-southwest of Nuremberg and immediately northeast of Absberg and south of Stockheim . Forests surround him in a valley that opens to the east. Along with other lakes and small ponds, it is part of the Franconian Lake District .
dam
The dam is designed as an intermediate dam to the east of the Großer Brombachsee , with a crown level of 413.5 m above sea level. NN and a length of 0.6 km. To protect the barrier structure from being washed away, there is a cut-off wall below the core, which extends down to the rock bedrock up to 26 meters below. The total height of the structure is up to 26 meters here.
