The Dennenloher See is located near Dennenlohe in the district of Ansbach in the Dennenloher Forest, a large forest and heather area. The lake has a water surface of 20 ha. It is located about ten km west of Gunzenhausen and a good seven km north of Wassertrüdingen as the crow flies .
In terms of tourism, the lake is part of the artificially created Franconian Lake District and is its smallest still water. Unlike the larger lakes in the group, it does not serve to supply the north Bavarian water shortage area through the Danube-Main crossing .
Since the Altmühlsee and Kleines Brombachsee went into operation , the Dennenloher See has been less frequented. It is interesting for anglers and hikers. There is a campsite on the shore.
The lake is located on the Limesweg of the Franconian Alb Association , a section of the German Limes hiking trail .
