The Igelsbach is a left tributary of the Igelsbachsee near Absberg in the central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen . Before the creation of the Brombach , the brook flowed into the Brombach , a tributary of the Swabian Rezat, not far from the Langweidmühle north of Ramsberg .

The Igelsbach rises in the middle of the Spalter hill country on the northwest slope of the Reitersbühl not far from the Reckenberg between Graefensteinberg and Kalbensteinberg . It flows south past the Viereckschanze , then passes the village of the same name and finally flows into the lake named after it in the reservoir root of the Igelsbachsee nature reserve north of Absberg .
