The pilgrimage ditch is a northern tributary of the Great Bromb axis near Spalt in the Central Franconian district of Roth . The name comes from the past place Heiligenblut , which is a place of pilgrimage . Before the reservoir was built, the ditch flowed into the Igelsbach . The lower course, which sank into the lake today, was also known as the Schneidbach .

The pilgrimage ditch rises at an altitude of 474 m above sea level. NHN north of Heiligenblut near Spalt . It flows in a southerly direction past Heiligenblut and at times forms the municipal boundary to Pleinfeld . After a run of around 1.8 kilometers, the water flows out at an altitude of 411 m above sea level. NHN south of Heiligenblut in the Großer Brombachsee. Before the lake was built, the pilgrimage ditch flowed a further 900 meters north of the Langweidmühle into the Igelsbach, which shortly after flowed into the Brombach .
