Ignacio Damián Medina

Ignacio Damián Medina (born March 17, 1967 in Tandil ) is an Argentine clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Lomas de Zamora .

Life

Ignacio Damián Medina studied at the seminary in Villa Devoto and received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires on November 26, 1994 from Archbishop Antonio Cardinal Quarracino .

After his first activity as a chaplain , he worked in the parish pastoral care of the diocese of Río Gallegos from 2000 to 2006 . After returning to his home diocese, he worked as a pastor in various parishes until his appointment as bishop . He also represented the Vicariate Devoto in the Caritas Commission of the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires.

On 26 November 2019 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Nepte and auxiliary bishop in Lomas de Zamora. The Bishop of Lomas de Zamora, Jorge Rubén Lugones SJ , donated him episcopal ordination on February 29 of the following year . Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Buenos Aires, Mario Aurelio Cardinal Poli , and Auxiliary Bishop Juan Carlos Ares from Buenos Aires.
