Your place GmbH & Co. KG i.I. was a drugstore chain in Germany based in Osnabrück. It belonged to the Schlecker group of companies from 2007 until it was dissolved . From 1958 to 1973 the name of the markets was the soapy place .
With a total of 3990 employees, your place operated around 490 drugstores in Germany, mainly in North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony . In Berlin , some of the Ihr-Platz stores operated under the name drospa .
On 26 January 2012, provided Ihr Platz GmbH & Co. KG at Ulm District Court application to open insolvency proceedings . The bankruptcy proceedings were opened on March 28, 2012.
Since no investor could be found for the company, the insolvency administration decided to break up your space and sell the individual branches. On July 26, 2012, sales began in 367 Ihr-Platz branches (excluding franchise and train station branches and branches that had already been sold to Dirk Rossmann GmbH ).

history
Its place went back to the Osnabrücker Seifenfabrik Frömbling, founded in 1895, the retail company to some specialty shops for soap and household goods in Wilhelmshaven . The first commercial court entry was made in 1932 as the specialty soap shop Wilhelm Puls KG in Oldenburg (Oldenburg) . With around a dozen branches, which were makeshiftly built up and furnished again after the Second World War , the company held out on a rather modest scale until 1949. When the Frömbling starch factory in Osnabrück had to be liquidated in 1952 , the owner Frömbling senior retired to a few soap shops. His son Jürgen Frömbling broke off his studies in food chemistry in Erlangen and initially worked as a volunteer at a bank for several months . Then he helped his father behind the counter. In 1958 the name of the company was changed to "Der Seifen-Platz". Frömbling soon realized where in the industry money could be made the fastest. In 1963, against his father's wishes, he opened the first self-service shop in Hann. Münden . The business started so well that Frömbling opened further self-service branches under the same name. Frömbling himself selected the locations of the new shops and specialized in small and medium-sized towns. In 1970 the chain comprised 400 shops and 3700 employees between Borkum and Lahr / Black Forest , with a focus on North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony. The range consisted of household items, cosmetics, toys, stationery and small textiles.
It was not until 1973 that the name of the company was changed to "Ihr Platz". In 1997, Frömbling withdrew from the management of the company and handed over management to his son Thomas Frömbling. In the same year Frömbling also founded Estorel AG in Switzerland, whose 33 stores remained a subsidy business until they were sold to the Müller drugstore chain .
By 1998 the number of employees in the group rose to 8,940.
At the beginning of 2000, around 250 drospa drugstores, which until then belonged to Douglas Holding in Hagen, were taken over by the Ihr Platz group of companies. This not only resulted in the largest increase in sales in the company's history, but according to the company's own account it was the logical merger of two companies that optimally complemented each other in terms of their branch network, their positioning on the market and even their corporate culture .
In the summer of 2002, Thomas Frömbling, as managing partner of the drugstore company, resigned from his position as managing director of the company. He then succeeded his father Jürgen Frömbling on the company's board of directors. He also performed his duties on the board of directors of the Estorel subsidiary in Switzerland. With Frömbling's departure from the management, a reorganization of the central organizational structure became necessary. The most important organizational innovation was the division of the Market / Goods management area into the areas of purchasing as well as sales and marketing.
Dietmar Donath, who was previously added to the management team, was responsible for the newly installed sales and marketing area. The retail manager, who has many years of experience in the stationary chain of stores of the Bertelsmann Club , also joined the Board of Directors of Estorel and was responsible for looking after Estorel from Osnabrück.
Your place filed for bankruptcy in May 2005 after a severe crisis . After the entry of the financial investors Goldman Sachs and Fortress Investment Group , the finances were put in order and a new branch concept established with a focus on wellness, beauty and health. In the modernized branches of Ihr Platz , sales increased consistently by more than 20 percent.
Effective December 31, 2007, the drugstore group Schlecker bought the company and has been running your place as a premium second brand ever since . At the end of 2011 your place had a total sales area of over 235,000 m² in 630 your place stores and 58 your place franchise markets .
Bankruptcy in 2012
On January 26, 2012, you place again filed for insolvency following the bankruptcy of the parent company Schlecker. The provisional insolvency administrator Werner Schneider announced the closure of 142 out of 612 stores nationwide. A total of 908 of 5350 jobs should be cut. According to later media reports, however, only 122 branches in all federal states should close by April 7, 2012 and 650 employees should be cut. A transfer company would be founded for these employees, the financing of which was secured.
In the course of the final Schlecker insolvency, which was announced on June 1, 2012, DUBAG ( Deutsche Unternehmensbeteiligungen AG ) from Munich planned to acquire your place and the XL branches of Schlecker from the insolvency administrator. A sales amount was initially not known. At the time of the sale, the chain had around 3900 employees and 490 branches were part of the company. Nationwide there were also another 50 Ihr-Platz stores at the time that were run as franchise companies. The failure of the sale to DUBAG was announced on June 9th. However, there were other interested parties.
As a result, the company was now broken up and the individual branches sold.
On July 18, 2012, 104 of the 490 Ihr-Platz branches were sold to Dirk Rossmann GmbH . On the same day it became known that the Stuttgart public prosecutor was investigating Anton Schlecker on suspicion of breach of trust, delaying bankruptcy and bankruptcy . Investigators searched apartments and business premises throughout Germany and seized documents throughout the day. The Federal Cartel Office approved the sale to Rossmann on July 25, 2012. From this mass, Rossmann also took over 20 stores from the IhrPlatz-Express distribution channel , which are located in train stations . From late summer 2012, these were gradually switched to the Rossmann Express ; this work continued in spring 2013. Rossmann expanded its range to include certain foods.
On July 20, 2012, the Austrian MTH Retail Group took over 109 branches from Ihr Platz. These should be re-flagged to Mäc-Geiz markets. On July 31, 2012 , HH Holding from Bönen took over 45 branches of Ihr Platz from Schlecker's bankruptcy estate. The HH Holding operates the textile discounter KiK , the one-euro store Tedi and the department stores of Woolworth Germany .
On August 10, 2012, the Bindlach-based textile retailer NKD took over 30 Ihr-Platz branches.
On August 29, 2012, all of the remaining Ihr-Platz branches closed.
Continuation of the franchise markets
On October 17, 2012, it became known that the 44 “Ihr-Platz” drugstores remaining nationwide, which were operated by franchisers and who lost their franchise partner with the Schlecker bankruptcy, will in future be operated by the trading cooperative “Für Sie” in Cologne would be looked after. Your place FOR YOU GmbH
The Your Place FOR YOU GmbH was founded in September 2012 by the FOR YOU trading group. The trading group had taken over the naming rights of the traditional company Ihr Platz . Together with former franchisees of Ihr Platz GmbH from Osnabrück, which went into bankruptcy , the “Ihr Platz” brand was continued by “FÜR SIE” on the German market.
FÜR SIE expanded the business with self-employed merchants. For this purpose, she worked with the REWE Group, among others. The stores of the former franchisees and new partners were operated by independent drugstore operators who used the new concept and appeared uniformly under the Ihr Platz brand. Started with 44 former franchisees, around 70 Ihr-Platz stores were represented across Germany at times.
FÜR SIE offered the Ihr Platz partners services that map all the functions of a system center. The partners were able to choose the services they needed from different modules. In addition to the merchandise business, procurement of conditions and action planning, all services for independent management of a drugstore were offered - for example shop fitting, shop fittings, advertising and supplies, a bi-weekly flyer and a new website.
In the summer of 2017, only around a dozen branches were operated under the name Ihr Platz . Gradually u. a. the website and the handouts are discontinued. The growing competition from larger drugstore chains such as Rossmann and dm, which increasingly also conquered rural areas and small towns away from metropolitan areas, ensured many business tasks. Other franchisees continue to operate their drugstore under the DroNova name with a similar concept. Budnikowsky acts as a partner.
In 2020 there are only very few branches that will continue to use the brand name Ihr Platz. The dealers pay a usage fee for the brand, but the franchise concept is considered a failure.
criticism
At the beginning of 2010, the company Ihr Platz was targeted by data protection activists because it became known that employees and customers were being monitored with video cameras across the board at Ihr Platz , thereby violating the Federal Data Protection Act.
