Iliomar I is an East Timorese suco in the administrative office of Iliomar ( Lautém municipality ).

Before the 2015 regional reform, Iliomar I had an area of ​​52.84 km². Now there are 53.38 km². The Suco is located in the southeast of the administrative office Iliomar and has an area of ​​52.84 km². To the south lies the Timor Sea , in the West Sucos iliomar subdistrict II and Aelebere , north of the Suco Fuat and to the east, across the river Namaluto the Office of Administration Lospalos with his Suco Lore I . Cross three other rivers, coming from Fuat, the Suco: the Veira , the Miaira and the Massoco . The border with Aelebere is followed by the southern coastal road, one of the country's main traffic axes, which swings inland here and continues to Lospalos .

There are three larger settlements in the Suco. In the center, near the coast, the village of Iratoi . Iradarate is significantly larger , but it is also partly in the area of ​​Sucos Iliomar II. There is a primary school and a helipad for emergencies.

In the north-west is Iliomar , the main town of the administrative office, which is also located in the areas of the Sucos Aelebere and Iliomar II. In this settlement center, which also includes the village of Fuat , there is a primary school, a school for preparation for secondary school, a community health center and a permanent helipad. Further southeast of it is the small town of Caentau ( Caintau ).

In Iliomar I there are the five Aldeias Ara'Ara (the place Ara'Ara is in Suco Aelebre), Caentau , Iliomar , Ossohira (the place Ossohira is also in Suco Aelebre) and Vatamatar (the place Vatamar is in Suco Iliomar II) .

Residents

1902 inhabitants (2015) live in the Suco, of which 890 are men and 1012 women. The population density is 35.6 inhabitants / km². There are 416 households in the Suco. Almost 98% of the population name Makalero as their mother tongue. A minority speaks Tetum Prasa .

The settlement was probably founded around 1894.

politics

In the elections of 2004/2005 was José Luis da Costa elected Chefe de Suco and in 2009 re-elected.
