action

As a renowned cover girl, Sophie dreams of a different existence than the one she leads with Philippe, a photographer. When she discovers he's interested in the wealthy American Barbara, she becomes enraged with jealousy until she ponders the crime of passion and takes revenge on the infidelities by hooking up with boys who like to have a threesome with her: Claude and Alain. One morning she steals Philippe's rifle and wants to shoot him and Barbara. Alain finds it difficult to calm her down, but he offers to play her lover in order to make Philippe jealous. The scarcity of their collected resources allows Sophie and Alain only to get a bed in a hotel storage room. There, Sophie only thinks about destroying Philippe's idyll. But because Alain lives with her and sleeps on a mattress on the floor, he falls in love with her. Alain decides to hurry things up and, under the threat of Sophie's rifle, demands a stand from Philippe. The next morning, an avalanche will convince Sophie that Alain is the man of her life and Philippe that Barbara can comfort him very well for Sophie.

background

Trained in freedom is one of Roger Vadim films with which he shows his ex-wife Brigitte Bardot in erotic poses. During the shooting there was a change of direction between Jean Aurel and Roger Vadim. The reviews were negative.

criticism

“The movie has been a pleasure for moviegoers for as long as the face behind the windshield of the leading actress Brigitte Bardot, for whom it was shot, can only be seen. In these first few minutes, director and BB ex-husband Roger Vadim performs a highly accelerated, turbulent traffic ballet in the streets of Paris that is reminiscent of the glorious jokes of the silent film era. But then - in the face of the self-imposed task of demonstrating his ex-wife's facial expressions in an entertaining way - he denies any idea, unless one takes the unfamiliar attitude of a woman who refuses to serve, which BB has to hold out until the end. Fashionable go-kart and bobsleigh races allow her at best new positions, but no new revelations. The longer the film lasts, the more unabashedly it becomes apparent that director Vadim has bought the most worn sensational comics in the antiquarian bookshop. ""

“Comedy of jealousy about a model who changes her lover. Poor ideas and amusing comedy and completely committed to continuing the film business with Brigitte Bardot "
