Indium (II) sulfide is an inorganic chemical compound of indium from the group of sulfides and, in addition to indium (I) sulfide and indium (III) sulfide, one of the well-known indium sulfides.

Extraction and presentation

Indium (II) sulfide can be obtained by reacting indium with sulfur .

properties

Indium (II) sulfide is a red-brown solid. It has an orthorhombic crystal structure with the space group Pnnm (space group no. 58) and the lattice parameters a = 444.3 pm, b = 1064.2 pm, c = 394.0 pm. The crystal structure consists of In 2 4+ cations, which are connected to neighboring cations by bridging sulfur atoms, so that a three-dimensional network results. Template: room group / 58
