Life

Before starting her career as a singer, Ines Paulke trained as a nurse. She then studied classical singing at the Gera District Music School and in 1983 received a sponsorship contract with the Committee for Entertainment Art . She initially sang in amateur bands such as the group Motiv and won several talent competitions. Already at this time her title Mona Lisa from Riesa in the GDR was included in the radio program. Rainer Oleak brought her to the band Datzu in 1984 , where Paulke sang until 1986 and finally left the band after a dispute. She then worked with pop producer Arnold Fritzsch , who had previously belonged to the band Kreis . For Paulke he composed titles like Hauch mir ein Leben ein Leben and The Color of My Tears , for which Paulke wrote the lyrics himself. She was one of the few artists in the GDR who recorded titles in English. In the late 1980s she also appeared under the name Inez Paulke .

She received awards at workers' festivals . She was voted "Pop Singer of the Year" three times in the GDR. The turn ended her career as a pop singer. Paulke has now performed as Swing Sisters with Anke Schenker and Angelika Weiz , founded the gospel project United Voices and was a revue dancer in Berlin's Friedrichstadtpalast . In 2003 the versatile artist wrote and sang the song for the Leipzig Olympic application together with the American Brady Swenson . In addition to her career as a singer, she had engagements in cabaret (e.g. with the “ Kiebitzensteinern ”) and as an actress.

From 2005, Paulke played Frau Scheuche, the fairy fairy and the forest wuffle in Reinhard Lakomy 's children's program, story songs in the magic tree . She left the project in December 2009 due to health problems.

After a long-term partnership with the pianist Peter Schenderlein from the Rumpelstil group broke, she moved to the Allgäu in 2007 to meet a new partner. This relationship ended in 2009 and Paulke suffered from depression as a result. On the night of February 16-17, 2010, Ines Paulke committed suicide in Thannhausen at the age of 51.
