Ingeborg Ohnheiser

Ingeborg Ohnheiser (born August 30, 1946 in Erfurt ; † March 6, 2018 ) was a German philologist and Slavist .

Life

Ingeborg Ohnheiser studied Slavic and English studies from 1965 to 1970 at the University of Leipzig and from 1967 to 1968 at Rostov-on-Don . After a scientific assistant in Leipzig it was in 1974 at Ernst Eichler with a dissertation on the synonymy in Russian nominal word formation to Dr. phil. PhD. After research semesters at the Lomonossow University in Moscow (1973/74 and 1978/79) she qualified as a professor in 1981 and was appointed professor for contemporary Russian in Leipzig in 1986. From 1991 to 1993 Ohnheiser was a substitute professor at the University of Tübingen . From 1993 to 1994 she taught at the Erfurt University of Education and the TU Dresden .

In 1994 she was appointed professor for Slavic Linguistics to the Chair of Slavic Studies at Innsbruck's Leopold-Franzens University . From 1994 to 2012 she was head of the Institute for Slavic Studies at the University of Innsbruck. She was also a member of the Commission for Slavic Word Formation at the International Slavic Committee (1996–2016) and scientific director of the Russia Center at the University of Innsbruck (2011–2016).

On the history of Slavic studies and on Russian and Slavic lexicology , word formation and phraseology , she published numerous articles and reviews in specialist journals, handbooks and anthologies. She had teaching and visiting positions in Russia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and England.
