Ingrid Fichtner (born February 26, 1954 in Judenburg ) is a German-speaking writer .

life and work

Ingrid Fichtner studied English at the University of Vienna from 1972 to 1978, graduating with a master's degree in philosophy, academic translator and certified interpreter. After spending seven years in the USA, she moved to Switzerland in 1985 , where she has worked as a writer, freelance editor and translator since 1996.

Ingrid Fichtner primarily writes poems, which she has published in several individual titles as well as anthologies and literary magazines. In addition, she works as a translator who specializes in the literary field. a. Translated texts by Jorie Graham and Robert Hass into German. From 1996 to 1998 she was co-editor of the literary magazine drafts for literature , from 1999 to 2003 she worked as a journalist for the Aargauer Zeitung in the poem of the week section .

She is a member of the Authors of Switzerland and the Graz Authors' Assembly . Since 1996 she has been working regularly with representatives of new music , in particular with Alfred Zimmerlin .
