NK Inter Zaprešić is a football club from the city of Zaprešić, west of the Croatian capital Zagreb , and currently plays in the 1st HNL , the highest Croatian football league.
history
The club was founded in 1929 as NK Sava and, after two renaming, since 1962 has been called Jugokeramika Zaprešić , named after the main sponsor. After the breakup of Yugoslavia and Croatia's independence , the company Jugokeramika was renamed INKER (INdustrija KERamike). At the same time, the club name also changed. When the main sponsorship agreement expired in 2003, the name was finally changed to NK Inter Zaprešić . The association's nickname Keramičari is also derived from the longstanding main sponsor. Another nickname is div iz predgrađa , which means something like "the giant from the suburbs".
The greatest club successes are the first place in the football tournament of 1991 , which was held as the unofficial Croatian championship, in which, however, not all Croatian clubs could take part due to the Croatian war . The tournament was held in a kind of waiting status, as there was no official league after the fall of Yugoslavia. In the following year, the first season of the now recognized 1st HNL took place and parallel to it the first Croatian cup competition. In the 1992 final, Inter became the first club to secure the title of Croatian Cup winner.
