Inside the Electric Circus is the title of the third studio album by the US band WASP , released in October 1986. It is the group's first album to be produced by band founder Blackie Lawless alone .
background
WASP had released the album The Last Command produced by Spencer Proffer in September 1985 . The songs on the album were described in a contemporary review by Rock Hard magazine as "one hundred percent mainstream tracks that should also please a non-heavy fan". The "only bright spot" is "the relatively good opener" Wild Child. Metal Hammer attested the album “Mediocre,” but admitted to the group that “there is still something to be done” if they manage to “work their way out of the swamp of the gag bands and total fan freaks”. In June 1986 rhythm guitarist Randy Piper left the band. Blackie Lawless, who had played bass up until then, took over his part, while bassist Johnny Rod ( King Kobra ) joined the band as a replacement for Piper .

For the follow-up album, the band booked the recording studio “The Pasha Music House” on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles . While the drums were traditionally recorded on 2-inch tapes , the rest were recorded digitally to allow for direct metal mastering. The band took just under three months to record, and the production was carried out by band founder Blackie Lawless.
In addition to written for the album's songs, two were cover versions of other songs recorded, the potential first as a title for the B-side singles were meant: The by Ken Hensley written Easy Livin ' by Uriah Heep and the by Nickolas Ashford , Valerie Simpson and Jo Armstead wrote I Don't Need no Doctor , which Ray Charles had a hit with in 1966. Lawless later decided to release both songs as part of the album.

Immediately after the release, the group went along with that of Germany coming heavy metal band Warlock in the UK on tour , where she performed at eight concerts.
