program

The program of an ICPS consists mainly of scientific contributions by the participants as well as by guest speakers. Other program items include visits to the local university, city tours, excursions and many social events.

history

A group of students decided in 1985 to organize a meeting of physics students from all over the world. The first ICPS took place in Hungary in the summer of 1986.

The great success of the conference led to another ICPS in Debrecen in 1987 . There the call for an umbrella organization for all physics students was loud. On September 12, 1987, the first charter of the International Association of Physics Students (IAPS) was signed. IAPS is a multinational, non-profit organization run entirely by students.

It was agreed that the ICPS would be held in a different country every year. A total of 33 conferences have taken place since then.
