International days
The International Days have been a cultural festival in Ingelheim am Rhein, organized regularly by Boehringer Ingelheim since 1959 . The core element of the festival is an exhibition in the old town hall of Nieder-Ingelheim . Further events such as concerts and lectures will take place around the exhibition, which are based on the theme of the festival.
history
The International Days were founded in 1959 by Ernst Boehringer . The idea behind this was that a globally operating company must also offer insights into other cultures. The festival was organized from 1959 to 1987 by the Swiss François Lachenal (1918–1997), then by the French Patricia Rochard until 2012. In August 2012 Ulrich Luckhardt took over her successor
"François Lachenal's reputation in the art scene made it possible to bring important personalities and exhibitions to Ingelheim again and again and to give new impulses to the city's cultural life."
Lord Mayor Dr. Joachim Gerhard when the Rathausplatz was renamed François-Lachenal-Platz in 2000
