Invesco ( ticker symbol : IVZ) is an independent investment company with around 7,000 employees and locations in 25 countries. The company's headquarters are in Atlanta , Georgia , USA ; the stocks listed in the S&P 500 stock index are traded on the NYSE . The assets under management of one of the world's leading independent asset management companies were over $ 1.1 trillion at the end of May 2019. Martin L. Flanagan has been CEO of the fund company since August 2005.

history

Invesco was founded in December 1935 as Wales H. Lotery & Co. Ltd., a company under British and Welsh law. In 1946, Invesco launched the oldest US investment fund to date and invested in the Asia-Pacific region for the first time in 1962.

In 1978, Invesco was founded in the United States under the leadership of Charles Brady. In 1988 Invesco merged with the London- based Britannia Arrow .

In 1990 Invesco acquired the asset manager PRIMCO Capital, which specializes in pension investments, and in 1991 the company took over a real estate company based in Dallas. In 1996 Invesco expanded worldwide with the entry into Hong Kong and Canada . In 1997 Invesco PLC merged with AIM Investments and then operated under the name AMVESCAP.

With the takeover of Trimark and Perpetual PLC in 2000, AMVESCAP positioned itself in Canada and Great Britain . The company expanded in 2001 through the acquisition of County Investment Management in Australia and the Pell Rudman Trust Company. In 2002, the global real estate business was expanded through the acquisition of Parkes & Co., London and the real estate unit of Hypo-Vereinsbank, Munich .
