Irina Nikolajewna Schabanowa ( Russian Ирина Николаевна Шабанова ; born September 10, 1938 in Ufa ) is a Soviet - Russian physicist , metalworker and university professor .

Life

Shabanova graduated from Perm State University (PGU) in 1962.

Shabanova became a research assistant at the Sverdlovsk Institute of Metal Physics of the Ural Department (UO) of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (AN-SSSR, since 1991 Russian Academy of Sciences (RAN)). In 1974 she successfully defended her dissertation on electron spectroscopic studies of compounds of iron , cobalt and nickel with carbon and silicon for her doctorate as a candidate in physical and mathematical sciences.

From 1976 Shabanova headed the Laboratory for X-ray Electron Spectroscopy of the Institute of Physics and Technology of the UO of the AN-SSSR and the Laboratory for Electron Spectroscopy of the Udmurt State University in Izhevsk . She investigated the surface layers and phase boundaries of crystalline and nanoamorphic solids and liquids . She received her doctorate in physical and mathematical sciences in 1990 and was appointed professor in 1993. She developed the first Russian Magnet - electron spectrometer . She is the author or co-author of more than 200 publications.

Shabanova is a member of the Scientific Council for Metal Physics of the RAN and the Scientific Council for the Physical Chemistry of Surfaces of the RAN's UO.
