Isabel Lucas (* 29. January 1985 in Melbourne , Victoria ) is an Australian actress and environmental - activist .

childhood

Lucas was born in Melbourne, Australia, to a Swiss and Australian daughter. She grew up in Cairns and also lived in Switzerland and in Kakadu , in the Northern Territory of Australia. She speaks English, German and French. Lucas went to St. Monica's College in Cairns.

Career

Lucas had enrolled at the Victorian College of Arts when she was discovered by acting agent Sharron Meissner, who got her to audition for the role of Kit Hunter on the popular soap opera Home and Away . Although Lucas was not selected for the role, the film producers loved her so much that they created the role of Tasha Andrews especially for her . Lucas' role on the series was her first on Australian television. It also promoted the Crest toothpaste . Lucas achieved his international breakthrough in 2009 in the role of Alice in the second part of Transformers .

In September 2009, Lucas graced the cover of Italian Vogue .

Political commitment

In October 2007, Lucas was part of a 30-strong Sea Shepherd Conservation Society activist group protesting against whale hunting in Taiji, Wakayama , Japan . The action was shown briefly in the film The Bay . Since then she has supported the environmental protection organization.
