Isabelle Delorme

Isabelle Delorme (born November 4, 1900 in Montreal ; † February 20, 1991 ibid) was a Canadian music teacher and composer.

Delorme first studied at the École supérieure de musique d'Outremont . She was then a piano student of Arthur Letondal and a violin student of Albert Chamberland and Agostino Salvetti . In 1918 she received a license to teach from the Académie de musique du Québec (AMQ). Between 1929 and 1939 she studied composition with Claude Champagne . In 1955 and 1956 she attended summer courses with Nadia Boulanger at the American Conservatory in Fontainebleau.

From 1943 to 1969 , Delorme taught music theory and solfège at the Conservatoire de musique du Québec . Her students included Andrée Desautels , Jacques Hétu , Roger Matton , François Morel and André Prévost . Between 1940 and 1960 most of her compositions were written in a traditional style. Her Andante was premiered in 1941 by the CBC Radio Orchestra .
