Ischi von König , real name Ilse von König (born November 8, 1891 in Berlin , † October 16, 1973 in Hanover ) was a German painter .

Life

Ilse von König was the daughter of a major general and niece of the painter Leo von König . Born in Berlin, Ilse became deaf when she was 6 years old . As a young woman, she had lived in an aunt's house in Hanover since 1901.

Ilse von König was initially a student of the painters Ernst Pasqual Jordan and Rudolf Weber , then from 1909 onwards to her uncle Leo von König in Berlin. In Hanover, she initially ran a joint studio with Hans Koken , and later her own in the Kleefeld district .

Ischi von König was a member of the German-Austrian artists' association GEDOK and went on study trips to Scandinavia, France, Spain and Italy. In the mid-1930s she went on a boat trip to China and East Asia.

Ischi mainly painted oil paintings and watercolors in the style of late Impressionism . During the reconstruction years, a large exhibition with her works took place in Krefeld in 1951 .

In 1968 Ischi von König self-published a monograph with 28 illustrations of her works. Werner Schumann wrote an introduction to this.
