Ivanda (1924: Iovănești , German: Iwanda , Hungarian: Ivánd , Serbian: Иванда ) is a village in Timiș County , Banat , Romania . Ivanda belongs to the Giulvăz municipality .
Geographical location
Ivanda is located in the southwest of Timiș County, 51 kilometers from the county capital Timișoara .

history
A first documented mention of the place comes from the year 1333. On the Josephine land survey of 1717 the place has 40 houses. After the Peace of Passarowitz (1718), when the Banat became a Habsburg crown domain , Ivanda was part of the Temescher Banat . In 1781 the estate belonged to the brothers Naum and Constantin Mosca. 1783–1784 Ivanda was inhabited by Serbs . Ivanda has always been a predominantly Serbian village.
From 1718 to 1778 Ivanda belonged to the Habsburg crown domain Temescher Banat. After the Austro-Hungarian Compromise , the village was annexed to the Kingdom of Hungary within the dual monarchy of Austria-Hungary . As a result of the Treaty of Trianon on June 4, 1920, the Banat was divided into three parts, whereby Ivanda fell to the Kingdom of Romania .
