Ivan Kopach

Iwan Symonowytsch Kopatsch ( Ukrainian Іван Симонович Копач ; born March 4, 1870 in Hrosowo , Galicia , Austria-Hungary ; † October 7, 1952 in Lviv , Ukrainian SSR ) was a Ukrainian author, philosopher, pedagogue, linguist and literary critic.

Life

Ivan Kopatsch arrived in the village Hrosowo ( Грозьово ) in Ukraine today Rajon Staryj Sambir of Lviv Oblast to the world. He was a member of the Shevchenko Scientific Society and worked as a teacher at high schools in Ternopil (from 1897 to 1901) and Lemberg (from 1896 to 1897 and from 1901 to 1908) and as a philosophy professor at the University of Lviv . From 1909 he was school inspector and visitor in the Lviv region for 20 years . He maintained contacts with Iwan Franko and Mychajlo Pawlyk and was the author of scientific papers on ethics and psychology, pedagogy, philosophy and classical philology. He also wrote articles and reviews on literature and plays.
