Jógvan Heinason

Jógvan Heinason called Jón , Danish Jon or Joen Heinesen (* 1541 ; † 1602 ) was 1572–1583 Løgmaður (then a kind of district judge) of the Faroe Islands .

Jógvan was the son of the Norwegian pastor Heini Havreki and the Faroese Herborg from Húsavík . His half-brother was the famous sea hero Magnus Heinason , the son of his Norwegian stepmother. Jógvan was a leaseholder in Lambi on Eysturoy. His great-great-grandson Sámal Pætursson Lamhauge was also Løgmaður of the Faroe Islands.
