Jóhan Hendrik Weyhe

Jóhan Hendrik Weyhe (born around 1645 ; died January 26, 1706 ) was Løgmaður of the Faroe Islands from 1679 to 1706 .

Jóhan Hendrik Weyhe was the son of the Danish officer Johan von Weyhe (1605–1679) and his wife Margaretha Gabel (1628–1683), a sister of the Danish liege lord Christoffer Gabel , who ruled the Faroe Islands during the infamous fork period (1655–1709) .

Jóhan Hendrik Weyhe was married to Maren Joensdatter (1660-1736), daughter of Løgmaður Jógvan Poulsen from Oyri .

Since Jóhan Hendrik Weyhe was born in the Faroe Islands and married into a well-known Faroese family, he is not only considered a Dane, but also a Faroese . At his death he was the largest landowner in the Faroe Islands (48 merkur ).

His daughter Armgard Marie Weyhe (born around 1685) married his successor in office Sámal Pætursson Lamhauge in 1706 .
