Thorkild Fjeldsted

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Thorkild Fjeldsted (* 1740 ; † November 19, 1796 in Trondheim ) was an Icelandic judge and Løgmaður of the Faroe Islands from 1769 to 1772 .

Thorkild Fjeldsted was the highest judge in Iceland before he ran for the office of Løgmaður of the Faroe Islands. He had two opponents, one of whom was Jens Christian Svabo . Fjeldsted never took up the office, so it was advertised again in 1772 when he became bailiff of Finnmark . He was a canon in Trondheim and supported the plan submitted by Johan Lausen Bull in 1793 to set up a new trading center for western Norway in Ålesund .
