Oyri [ ˈɔiɹɪ ] ( Danish : Øre ) is a place in the Faroe Islands on the west coast of Eysturoy .

Oyri

Oyri is located south of the neighboring village of Oyrarbakki on the Sund ( Sundini ) between Eysturoy and Streymoy . Here the road ends along the west coast to the south.

In order to reach the town of Selatrað further south on the same coast, drivers have to take a detour of more than 35 kilometers. There is a hiking trail from here inland to Skálafjørður .
