Jörg Illing (born October 2, 1964 in Rodau , Kr. Plauen-Land ) is a former German football player who was active in the GDR Oberliga and the 2nd Bundesliga .
Athletic career
BSG, club and association stations
Jörg Illing comes from the junior departments of BSG Aufbau Leubnitz. In 1978 Illing moved from BSG Motor WEMA / Aufbau Plauen to the junior division of FC Karl-Marx-Stadt (FCK), in which he ran through all teams until 1983. The defender did not make the leap into the FCK league team straight away. The result was a change to BSG Motor "Fritz Heckert" Karl-Marx-Stadt , for which Illing was active in the second-rate GDR league in just under one and a half seasons until autumn 1984 .
Then the defensive power switched back to FCK and was able to establish itself in the sky blue team in the following period . In the top division, the defensive power made its debut on September 29, 1984 in the 1: 4 away defeat of Karl-Marx-Städter against 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig .
At national level he was third in the league in 1989 with the FCK and vice-champion a season later. On April 1, 1989, he was in the final for the FDGB Cup 1988/89 , but lost 1-0 to the East German series champions BFC Dynamo . Due to his good placements, the FCK qualified for the UEFA Cup in 1989 and 1990 , thus Illing came to a total of six international appearances, of which he completed two each against Juventus Turin , Boavista Porto and FC Sion .
For FCK, which was transferred to Chemnitzer FC after German reunification , Illing was active in the 2nd Bundesliga until 1995. The best placement was in the 1991/92 season, the premier season of the all-German 2nd division , reached fifth place. He missed the possible entry into the final of the DFB Cup 1992/93 due to a surprising defeat against the amateurs of Hertha BSC . Afterwards he worked for a long time at FC Bayern Hof and VfB Chemnitz . Further stations were the SSV 91 Brand-Erbisdorf , Chemnitzer FC II, the FSV Grüna 08 and the FSV Limbach-Oberfrohna .
Selection bets
Due to his performances in the junior league for FCK Illing got into the squad of the GDR junior selection . In the autumn of 1982 he was used four times in the East German U-18.
