Jörn Schläger (born July 1, 1972 in Berlin ) is a German handball trainer and player.

Racket played handball at various clubs in Germany and Switzerland in the position of the backcourt player . He began his career at SC Dynamo Berlin , then played at HSG Suhl until June 1994 and at VfL Gummersbach from July 1994 to April 1995 . From here he moved to ThSV Eisenach in July 1995 , where he played until June 2001. He then played for Frisch Auf Göppingen (July 2001-June 2003), Grasshoppers Zurich (2003/2004 season), Stralsund HV (July 2004 to July 2007) and HSV Insel Usedom (July 2007 to November 2007).

He was active at Wacker Thun in Switzerland in 2006 before moving to HSV Insel Usedom as a coach and player in 2007. In November 2008 he left the Usedomer club. From February 2010 Jörn Schläger worked as a trainer for Rostock HC . From June 10, 2011, Jörn Schläger trained the Stralsund HV, which played in the 3rd division , where he had already been an active player. During the current second third division season ( 2012/13 season ) he was given leave of absence from the club on December 22, 2012. From July 2013 to December 2015 Jörn Schläger looked after the first men's team of the Ribnitzer HV ( Ribnitz-Damgarten ) in the fifth-class Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania League. From July 2016 to October 2017, he coached the HSV Bad Blankenburg team . Since January 2018 he has been training the second team from ThSV Eisenach .

With the Grashoppers Zurich (2003/2004) and Wacker Thun (2006/2007) he played in the European Cup Winners' Cup , with Wacker Thun also in the EHF Cup (2005/2006).

For the German national team , Jörn Schäger played a total of 22 games between 1999 and 2001, in which he scored 20 goals.

The 1.91 m tall Jörn Schläger is a trained physiotherapist and worked full-time after his engagement on Usedom.
