Júlio César Souza de Jesus

Júlio César Souza de Jesus (born July 27, 1971 in Goiânia , Goiás , Brazil ) is a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Fortaleza .

Life

Júlio César Souza de Jesus studied philosophy at the State University of Ceará from 1991 to 1993 and then theology at the Teresina Seminary . On June 27, 1998, he received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Teresina .

In addition to various tasks in parish pastoral care, from 2007 to 2013 he was sub-rain for the philosophy students of the seminary. Before that, after completing his studies at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, he obtained a degree in dogmatics . Since 2014 he has been pastor in Teresina as well as professor at the seminary and at the deacon school, where he was also spiritual .

On 11 July 2018 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Arba and auxiliary bishop in Fortaleza. The Archbishop of Teresina, Jacinto Furtado de Brito Sobrinho , donated him episcopal ordination on September 30 of the same year . Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Fortaleza, José Antônio Aparecido Tosi Marques , and the emeritus Bishop of Parnaíba , Alfredo Schäffler .
