The Jewish cemetery in Meckesheim is a Jewish cemetery in Meckesheim , a municipality in the Rhein-Neckar district in northern Baden-Württemberg . The cemetery is a protected cultural monument .
history
The dead of the Jewish community Meckenheim were first on the 13 km from Association Cemetery , the Jewish cemetery Wiesloch , buried. The Jewish cemetery was laid out next to the Christian one in 1896. It has an area of 4.56 acres . Today there are still 22 tombstones ( mazewot ). The first burial took place in 1897 and the last in 1935.
In 1985 a memorial was erected for the murdered Jews from Meckesheim during the time of National Socialism .
