The Jewish cemetery Hemsbach is a Jewish cemetery in Hemsbach , a town in the Rhein-Neckar district in northern Baden-Württemberg . The cemetery is a cultural monument worth protecting .
The Jewish cemetery in Hemsbach was established in 1674 as an association cemetery. A funeral association ( Chewra Kadischa ) has survived for 1716 , which was made up of the following Jewish communities: Dossenheim , Feudenheim , Großsachsen , Hemsbach, Ilvesheim , Ladenburg , Lampertheim , Laudenbach , Leutershausen , Lützelsachsen , Schriesheim , Viernheim and Weinheim .
The Jewish cemetery is located between Mühlweg and Oberer Mühlweg in the Gewann Teufelsloch , has an area of 142.61 ares and an entrance on both streets. Today there are still 1,066 gravestones ( Mazevot ). The oldest legible tombstone is from 1682, the last burial took place in 1940.
