Jürgen Attig

Jürgen Attig (* 1961 in Hildesheim ) is a German jazz and fusion musician ( double bass , electric bass , composition ).

Live and act

Attig has been playing bass since he was 15; he learned the instruments mostly self-taught . In 1983 he took part in the popular music pilot project at the Hamburg University of Music .

In 1982 Attig was a member of Gunter Hampel's band . Between 1984 and 1988 he was part of the pop band Felix De Luxe ; in addition, he worked regularly with Biréli Lagrène , with whom he made several European tours and performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival . 1989 to 1990 he belonged to the Rainbirds . Since 1993 he has accompanied Georgette Dee . He played on numerous European and USA tours with Dennis Chambers , Dave Weckl , Gerry Brown , Brian Melvin , Vinnie Colaiuta , Kenwood Dennard , Hiram Bullock , Bootsy Collins , James Moody , Horace Parlan , Buddy DeFranco , Herb Geller and with Gil Evans Monday Evening Ochestra . Since 1995 he has been part of Nils Gessinger's band , with whom he recorded four albums.

The NDR big band brought him in 1997 as a tribute to Jaco Pastorius We Remember Jaco . As a studio musician, he has appeared on numerous CD productions, such as Randy Crawford . Since 1991 he has been teaching (seminars and instrumental lessons) at the University of Hildesheim .
