Jürgen Banscherus

Jürgen Banscherus (born March 13, 1949 in Remscheid-Lennep ) is a German writer and children's book author .

Life

After graduating from high school, Banscherus studied humanities and social sciences in Münster and Bonn . He worked as a journalist for a daily newspaper, as a research associate, as a publishing editor and as a teacher in adult education .

He has been publishing poems since 1983. His first children's book was published in 1985. He has been a freelance writer since 1989 and a member of the PEN Center Germany and for many years was chairman of the jury at the federal decision of the reading competition . His books have now been translated into 26 languages. He works with the children's book illustrator Ralf Butschkow for the children's crime series Ein Fall für Kwiatkowski , the world edition of which has now reached the two million mark . The series is one of the greatest children's book successes in Greece. His first adult novel was published in 2014 under the pseudonym “Max Diener”.

Banscherus has two grown children and lives with his wife in Witten .
