Manfred Schlueter

Manfred Schlueter (born January 16, 1953 in Kellinghusen ) is a German author , illustrator and freelance artist ( painting , graphics , object ).

Live and act

Manfred Schlüter learned the profession of gravure retoucher in Itzehoe and studied graphic design in Hamburg .

He has been making pictures for books since 1979. He has illustrated texts by Michael Ende , Boy Lornsen , Achim Bröger and others. Since 1991 he has published his own poems and stories. Books with his pictures and texts have been published in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, the Netherlands, Great Britain, France, Japan, China, Taiwan and South Korea and have received several awards. His numerous publications on children's and youth literature appeared a. a. at Oetinger and Thienemann Verlag . Since 2013 he has also published new editions of out of print titles in the Gegenwind edition .

He is a member of the Künstlerbund Steinburg in the Federal Association of Visual Artists .

Manfred Schlüter has lived in Hillgroven in Dithmarschen since 1978 , where he was mayor from 2013 to 2018.
